Overview
Pilot is an independent design agency based in Boston, partnering with brands across consumer, outdoor, hospitality, and entertainment to translate big ideas into thoughtful, highly crafted brand experiences. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of designers, strategists, and illustrators, the studio blends strategy, storytelling, and execution across identity, campaigns, environments, and digital systems.
As an Associate Designer, I contributed to a wide range of client work spanning brand identity development, campaign design, and production across physical and digital touchpoints. My role involved collaborating closely with creative directors, art directors, and fellow designers while supporting concept development, execution, and refinement across multiple projects simultaneously.
Primos Hunting
Primos Hunting was a full brand refresh aimed at expanding the company’s appeal to a broader audience while preserving its distinctive personality rooted in hunting culture and heritage. Working with Erik Weikert, Noah Revoir, Himanshu Sharma, Brendan Keohane, and Maverick O’Meara, I contributed to early concept development and direction setting for the rebrand.
I played a key role in developing one of the initial creative directions with Himanshu Sharma, titled “The Only Truth,” which centered on the visual language of a hunt camp wall layered with photos, textures, and artifacts collected over time. The direction explored depth, imperfection, and storytelling through grain, dust, and collage-like composition. I also selected the primary typeface used in the final identity and designed a “butcher paper” graphic element that became a recurring asset across applications providing unique brand character and ownable texture to compositions.
Beyond concept development, I helped translate the final direction, built by Brendan Keohane and Noah Revoir, into a functional brand system by developing an interactive brand guide in Figma, standardizing brand rules, and preparing final deliverables for the client in partnership with Matt Arnold. The work extended across a wide range of touchpoints including digital, retail, apparel, packaging, and campaign concepts, helping establish a cohesive and flexible system for the refreshed brand.
Sierra
Sierra became one of the primary brands I worked on at Pilot, supporting the team following a recent rebrand. Partnering closely with Noah Revoir, Matt Arnold, and Erik Weikert, I contributed to refining and extending the identity across a wide range of applications.
My work included developing print and digital advertising, standardizing product and sub-brand logos, and helping finalize comprehensive brand guidelines. I also contributed to environmental and experiential applications including tradeshow graphics for SHOT Show, office branding, and in-store retail displays.
This work required balancing technical precision with strong visual storytelling, ensuring the brand maintained consistency while scaling across packaging systems, marketing campaigns, and physical environments.
Barnes
As a sister brand to Sierra, Barnes required a similarly robust and scalable design system, with a greater emphasis on performance and technical expertise. Working with Noah Revoir and Matt Arnold, I designed a range of campaign and brand assets across digital, print, and retail environments.
Projects included print and web advertising, product and sub-brand logos, in-store displays, packaging systems, and a podcast identity. I also contributed to seasonal campaigns and tradeshow graphics, often working across both Barnes and Sierra simultaneously to ensure visual cohesion while maintaining distinct brand identities.
Additional Work
In addition to core client projects, I contributed to a range of work across the studio that, while more limited in scope or not fully represented here, reflects the breadth of my experience. This included concepting and designing a direct mail catalog for Stone Glacier, translating the brand’s rugged, performance-driven identity into a more refined editorial format.
I also supported early-stage brand and strategy work, contributing to the American Bus Association identity alongside Elīna Mackēviča and Erik Weikert, and participating in naming and positioning exercises for real estate developments in the greater Boston area. Across clients such as Camp Chef and Bushnell, I developed production and campaign assets spanning packaging, web, presentations, events, and out-of-home graphics, helping extend recently rebranded systems across new touchpoints.
In collaboration with Himanshu Sharma and the Yellowfly team, I worked on illustration-driven and licensed entertainment projects, including refining the logo and typography for the World of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles identity. The mark was designed to reflect the depth and character of the franchise and was later featured in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, a true bucket list moment. I also contributed to Star Wars licensing projects, creating artwork that aligned with established brand systems while exploring new visual expressions within a globally recognized franchise.
